Develops and implements strategic sales and marketing objectives focused on increasing existing business and developing new business.  The position will be responsible for the overall success and management of the sales team. Strategic planning and the ability to successfully direct the sales team toward the fulfillment of company goals are essential.  The position establishes sales goals, budgets and measurements of sales performance to drive revenue growth.  Manages and develops marketing programs and materials such as advertising, event support and online promotions.  Directly manages a group of sales and marketing professionals with a focus on customer and strategic partner team building.  Active "hands on" business developer and true strategic partner to the President.  Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.  Requires a Bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of sales and marketing experience in the Financial Services arena.  Reports to the President, Life of the South.

Primary Job Functions

Possess strong market analysis and research capabilities that the process of identifying new potential business opportunities is efficient and well thought out.

Possess in-depth knowledge of competitive landscape, communicating market needs and trends and developing new products.
Overall accountability for developing an effective national sales force and implementing national sales programs through field sales action plans, market strategies and performance coaching.
Execute sales strategies against corporate goals and objectives, and develop and scale up new business and customer bases.
Establishes sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and  territories; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products.
Manage and grow a national sales team. Must be a proven developer of sales talent and have the demonstrated ability to organize a sales team that consistently exceeds  expectations.
Requires strong management and motivational skills, experience in dealing with senior levels of management  and educating and training an inside sales team.
Devise and implement the sales strategy, identifying key strategic initiatives for growth through account penetration and new business development.
Responsibility to devise budgets, strategic sales plans and proposals to drive  revenue growth.
Develop, monitor and report performance for the sales organization against key performance metrics. Adjust  metrics, targets and incentive plans as apporopriate.
Cultivate new relationships at all levels of the client base and intenal organization to  promote  and gain depth of engagement with target accounts.
Represent Life of the South at marketing and advertising  conferences and seminars.
Develop and close new business.

Education and Skill Requirements

Bachelors degree in Marketing or Business
10+ years directly related  to sales and marketing within the Financial Services Industry and 5 years directly manageing a  slaes organization.
Excellent PC skills icluding advanced knowledge of MS Office applications.
Available to Travel
Commitment to Customer Service, relationship building and organization.
